In this lesson, you'll learn how to talk about future actions in Spanish through a quick conversation.
Let's look at the dialogue.
As you listen, pay attention to how they ask about the topic and how the other person responds.
¡Gracias por la comida! Está deliciosa.
De nada. Catalina, ¿qué harás durante las vacaciones de verano?
Iré a Puerto Vallarta con unos amigos.
¿Eh? ¿Irás a la playa? ¿No buscarás trabajo?
Tomaré algunas clases en la universidad allí.
Qué bueno. Lleva un traje de baño. Creo que hará calor.
Let's break it down.
¡Gracias por la comida! Está deliciosa.
"Thank you for the food! It's delicious."
De nada. Catalina, ¿qué harás durante las vacaciones de verano?
"You're welcome. Catalina, what will you do during the summer vacation?"
After that is the focus statement. Let's take a look at its elements.
Iré a Puerto Vallarta con unos amigos.
"I'm going to Puerto Vallarta with some friends."
This starts with the verb, iré, meaning "I will go." Iré (enunciated). Iré.
Next is the phrase, a Puerto Vallarta, meaning "to Puerto Vallarta." A Puerto Vallarta (enunciated). A Puerto Vallarta.
After this is the phrase, con unos amigos, meaning "with some friends." Con unos amigos (enunciated). Con unos amigos.
All together, it's Iré a Puerto Vallarta con unos amigos. "I'm going to Puerto Vallarta with some friends." Iré a Puerto Vallarta con unos amigos.
¿Eh? ¿Irás a la playa? ¿No buscarás trabajo?
"Huh? Will you go to the beach? Won't you look for a job?"

"I'll take some classes at the university there."
