Rosa: Hello everyone, my name is Rosa and this is Spanish weekly words and I am about to discover what the theme for this week is. It is drinks. The first word is [café] which means “coffee”. [Prefiero el café con leche.] - “I prefer coffee with milk”.
[leche] which means “milk”. [Últimamente mucha gente bebe leche de almendras.] - “lately, a lot of people drink whole milk”.
The next word is [refresco] which means “soda”. [Me gusta beber un refresco cuando estoy en el cine.] - “when I am in the cinema I like to drink soda.”
[té] which means “tea”. [El otro día compré té de fresas con champán.] - “the other day I bought tea of strawberries with champagne”. Very nice.
[agua] which means “water”. [Dicen que deberías tomar más de dos litros de agua al día. ] - “they say that you should drink more than 2 liters of water each day”. This is the end. I hope you learned something useful and I also hope to see you next week, bye.

There is a translation error on this page. Leche de almendras is almond milk, not whole milk. Whole milk es la leche entera.

Hola Timoteo,

Thank you for your comments. :sunglasses:

Sorry, I can't see your emojis.

Not all name have an equivalent in other languages, this is why proper nouns are not translated.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't think about not translating the first name. I remember, way back, almost 40 years ago when I took Spanish my senior year of high school and the first thing we did was learn the Spanish equivalent to our first name and that was what we were called for the rest of the year. LOL ?

Thanks. ?

Hola Timoteo,

Thank you for your comment!

When its summer usually drinks a lot of "refrescos".

No, you shouldn't translate your first name or last name, because they are proper nouns.

Please keep practicing.

Hola. I liked the word refresco the best but, I actually drink agua most of the time. ?

I have a question. My last name is Timothy Gray but I remember hearing, somewhere, a long time ago that you don't normally translate a person's last name, is this true? Should I say, "Timoteo Gray" or "Timoteo Gris"?
