Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What's your favorite number?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to say many numbers and ask someone their favorite number.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
¿Cuál es tu número favorito?
El siete.
Once more with the English translation.
¿Cuál es tu número favorito?
“What's your favorite number?”
El siete.
“It's seven.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What's your favorite number?”
That's: ¿Cuál es tu número favorito?
Listen to it again: ¿Cuál es tu número favorito?, ¿Cuál es tu número favorito?
“What's your favorite number?”
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
El [number].
This Spanish sentence literally means “The [number].”
But it means “It's [number].”
For example:
“It's seven.”
El siete., El siete.
