Hi, everyone! I'm Rosa, and today we'll be doing the 10 phrases you never want to hear in Spanish. so let's begin!
1. ¡Estás despedido! "You are fired!"
No!
Estoy despedido. “I’m fired”
Why?
2. ¡Perdón, lo olvidé! "Sorry, I forgot!"
Not very nice to hear when they forget some special date, make sure not to forget next time.
3. ¡Te lo dije! "I told you so!"
I hate to hear that, especially from my mother.
¡Te lo dije! "I told you so!"
4. ¿Has ganado peso últimamente? "Have you gained weight recently?"
I think especially older people, like, tell you that, like they don't think it’s a bad thing to say, like, they just say so naturally, like, have you gained weight?
5. Deberíamos ver a otras personas. "We should see other people."
Oh, breaks my heart.
6. Gracias por tu currículum, aunque el puesto ya está adjudicado. "Thank you for your resume, however the position has been filled."
Oh… you’ll just have to look for another job then, it will be fine next time. Good luck!
7. No eres tú, soy yo. "It's not you, it's me."
They always say that, but it is you, it is really you. They are lying!
8. No tengo tu dinero. "I don't have your money today."
Maybe tomorrow they won't have either, I don't know, so as soon as you have the money, yes, return it. Give me back my money.
9. Tenemos que hablar. "We need to talk."
That always means something bad is going to happen, I guess.
10. ¿Por qué no puedes hacer esto? "Why can't you do this?"
Everyone has their own excuse, some people are better on something and other people are better at other things, so yeah.
