¡Hola Dr. Warren Kyprie!

We are so sorry for the inconvenience. 😞

As the very first steps, I would strongly recommend you to check out our series on phonetics at https://www.spanishpod101.com/lesson-library/phonetics-lessons/ and our series on pronunciation at https://www.spanishpod101.com/lesson-library/ultimate-spanish-pronunciation-guide/. Once you have finished this, you can start one of our Absolute Beginner series. For instance, this is our most popular Absolute Beginner Spanish series: https://www.spanishpod101.com/lesson-library/mastering-level-1/.

Later on, or in the meantime, of course you can have a look into other series too, depending on what you are more interested in. You can browse from the tons of available lessons in our Lesson Library at https://www.spanishpod101.com/lesson-library. On top of that, we also have thematic vocabulary lists. You can browse from these at https://www.spanishpod101.com/spanish-vocabulary-lists/.

I hope I managed to give you a clear answer on how to start. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Saludos,

Levente

I am very confused...not by the

Spanish, but by the technology. I seems to alternate between the lessons and the advertisements. I have registered and paid, but I continue to get ad's even when first going to the dashboard and then to the lesson. Is this your plan? How is this supposed to work? How can I use the system to go through the lessons in order and not be transferred to ads that teach a little bit and then offer more sales pitches. Also, where should I start? I wonder if I am starting in the wrong place. This is very confusing and I am using the time that I paid for to get information that does not really help me learn. Thanks, Dr. Warren Kyprie

Hola Bruce,

Thank you for your comment.

"gusto" would only mean "pleasure" if you use it in the phrase "mucho gusto".

Sigamos practicando.

Hola Pavel,

Thank you for your comment.

Besides the accent, the difference is the use of some words.

Yes, we have lessons for Iberian Spanish. You only need to search for them on the lesson library.

Hola, I had the same issue as Christina. So I put the words into the Google spanish to english translator, knowing that it's not entirely accurate. But this is what I got. Gusto = Taste. Mucho gusto = Pleasure. Mucho = A lot. and Mucho placer = A lot of pleasure. I know words change meanings depending on context. In this lesson we are told that both Gusto and Placer = Pleasure. So if the quiz asks to translate Pleasure to spanish, and I choose gusto, the reason it is wrong should be included in the lesson.

Hola.

is the difference between European Spanish and American?

Do you only have lessons for beginners in American Spanish (Mexican Spanish)? or do you have lessons for beginners in classical Spanish in Europe?
