| Two people are having a conversation in the store. They are discussing computers. |
| Disculpe, ¿qué computadora me recomienda? |
| "Excuse me, which computer do you recommend?" |
| Pues... esta es muy rápida. |
| "Well... this one is very fast." |
| rápida |
| meaning "fast" is used here in its feminine singular form because esta refers to the feminine noun computadora. |
| In Spanish, most adjectives change based on gender and number. |
| Masculine adjectives ending in -o change to -a for the feminine form, so the masculine adjective bonito, meaning "pretty" or "nice," becomes bonita. |
| Adjectives that end in -e or a consonant stay the same for both genders, such as grande, meaning "big." |
| For plurals, adjectives add -s if they end in a vowel, so bonito, meaning "pretty" or "nice," becomes bonitos, bonitas, and grande, meaning "big," becomes grandes. |
| If the adjective ends in a consonant, it adds -es. |
