Do you know how to make an invitation in Spanish?
Welcome to Three Step Spanish Practice by SpanishPod101.com. In this lesson, you will practice how to make an invitation.
Let's look at the main dialogue.
Two people are having a conversation.
Guau. Qué bonita habitación.
Es muy amplia. Y la vista es preciosa.
"Wow. What a beautiful room.
It's very spacious. And the view is gorgeous."
Vamos a la playa ahora mismo.
"Let's go to the beach right now."
Vamos a
Vamos a plus an infinitive verb is a simple and natural way to suggest doing something together in Spanish.
Vamos means "we go" and comes from the verb ir, which means "to go."
When used with [a] and an infinitive, it often takes on the meaning of "let's"—a casual invitation to do something with someone else.
The verb that follows vamos a stays in its infinitive form—ending in -ar, -er, or -ir—and is not conjugated.
Let's practice this grammar more in this lesson.
