Lesson Transcript

How are your Spanish listening skills?
First you’ll see an image and hear a question.
Next comes a short dialogue.
Listen carefully and see if you can answer correctly.
We’ll show you the answer at the end.

Hola Mercurio,

Thank you for your comments.

Yes, you are right about the word "grande" it means the same for all types of Spanish.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but yes we ask for name and email every time one wants to post. Though this can be saved for next posts. As for the time stamp, yes it's Tokyo time since our main office is located there, but I will send your suggestion to the Software team about it.

About you CSS suggestion, I recommend using Chrome browser if you are not using this already. From my end, I don't have the problem you mention. But we will look into it and see how can improve it.

We really appreciate all you feedbacks, these will help us improve our lessons for a better experience.

Saludos,

Carla

Here is a tip, I don't want to be annoying: In your CSS you have "word-break: break-all;" and it looks awful. This rule applies to these messages, like the one I am typing now. That CSS rule will add a line break in the middle of a word. This paragraph will likely be broken in the middle of several words, depending on how large your screen is. It looks like this: "Examp[new line]le". It doesn't even add a hyphen.

Technical questions:

1. Why is it asking for my name and email address to post? I am already logged in to SpanishPod101.com, and I am at the website currently in a browser.

2. What time zone on earth are the time stamps? It says I wrote the prior post at 7:13 AM on Wednesday - that's the time zone in Tokyo, among other places. I am used to seeing London time on websites that don't work well (it is often default in the software), but Tokyo? Please talk to your software engineers and mention "localization". Or at least pick a time zone that is closer to the prime meridian. Maybe Madrid?

Hola Paul,

You can also use "bien", this is actually more common than "correcto".

finalmente! I got one right.

la contesté correctamente.

Is there a way to say "I answered it right," in a direct answer to "did you get it right"? Presumably "derecha" does not have that double meaning in spanish? (right in direction, "turn right," and right as in "correct"?).
