In this lesson, you’ll learn HOW TO CONJUGATE -ER VERBS IN SPANISH.
Let’s get started!
Let's look at the conjugation chart.
Notice how there is a verb form for each subject.
First is:
Yo como
I eat.
Tú comes
you eat.
Usted come
you eat, formal version
Él come, ella come
he eats, she eats
Let’s look at the plural forms.
Nosotros comemos
we eat
Ustedes comen
you eat, plural form
Ellos comen
they eat
Now, Let's look at the dialogue.
As I read, I want you to pay attention to the verbs.
Find what the verb is and see how it’s used in the dialogue.
¿también comes carne?
do you also eat meat?
Sí. Yo también como carne.
yes. I also eat meat
Now let's look at some speaking examples.
Como fruta todos los días
I eat fruit every day
¿vende pescado?
do you sell fish?
Responden las preguntas del profesor.
they answer the teacher’s questions
¿lees el periódico todas las mañanas?
do you read the newspaper every morning?
Ben corre por el parque.
ben runs through the park
Notice how the -ER ending in each verb
is replaced with the corresponding ending according to subject.
