Lesson focus

JP: Ok, let's do some grammar. Today we're gonna look at exclamations!
Fernando: Oh, the joy!
JP: Yes, exclamations of joy, or surprise, but also of sarcasm... Fernando!
Fernando: ¿qué?
JP: So to make our exclamations, we're going to start with qué and then add an adjective.
Fernando: Qué fácil.
JP: Yes it is very easy. Qué facil.
Fernando: Qué chido, qué lindo, qué divertido.
JP: Ok, you get the point... Qué + adjective. There's also the formula qué + noun, if you want to make an exclamation about a noun. like ¡Qué milagro!
Fernando: ¡Qué milagro! What a miracle. How about ¡qué choche!
JP: ¡Qué coche! what a car... that's useful, if you're exclaiming about cars.
Fernando: Yah, you know, like in the commercials. ¡Qué detergente!
JP: What a detergent! Ok, the implication is that it's a great detergent. What a great detergent!
Fernando: Qué bueno.
JP: Okay.

Outro

Fernando: Well, I think that about does it for today, JP.
JP: For now, it’s time to say goodbye. Hasta luego.
