Gina: Hi everyone, I'm Gina.
Lucia: And I'm Lucia!
Gina: And welcome to Culture Class Essential Spanish Vocabulary, Lesson 22! In this lesson you'll learn five essential words related to geography and nature. These are five common natural disasters in Peru, hand picked. You can find a complete list of vocabulary at SpanishPod101.com.

During the rainy season in the highlands of Peru, landslides are very frequent. They can obstruct roads and also destroy small towns.

During the rainy season, heavy rain in jungle areas causes the rivers to overflow, which leads to flooding that destroys houses and towns.
