Lucia: And I'm Lucia!
Gina: And welcome to Culture Class Essential Spanish Vocabulary, Lesson 12! In this lesson you'll learn five essential words related to geography and nature. These are five popular Peruvian cities, hand picked. You can find a complete list of vocabulary at SpanishPod101.com.

Lima city is the capital and largest city of Peru with a population of 7.6 million, and is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

Arequipa is the most industrialized and the second most populous city in the country. It’s known as "the white city" and is very popular for its political force and intellectual figures.

Huancayo is a developing city of the central highlands that has grown with great importance and economical impact over the last few years. It’s the eighth most populous city in the country and it has great economical and commercial importance in the central highlands.

Cusco es una ciudad muy bonita, y Machu Picchu no es lo unico que hay para ver alla.

Espero puedas visitar Cusco algún día. :thumbsup:

Un caballe de paso son caballos especiales (like a bread) que son usados para bailar marinera, una danza tipica de la costa peruana.
