Intro

Hi, everyone. I’m Denise from SpanishPod101.com. In this video, we’ll be talking about Making Complaints in Spanish. Let’s begin!
COMPLAINT 1
The first complaint is ...
[Normal] Me estoy muriendo de hambre. [Slow] Me estoy muriendo de hambre.
"I'm starving."
This literally means "I am dying of hunger."
COMPLAINT 2
The next complaint is...
[Normal] Hay mucho ruido. [Slow] Hay mucho ruido.
This means "It's noisy."
This literally means "There is a lot of noise."
COMPLAINT 3
[Normal] Está caluroso [Slow] Está caluroso
This means "It's hot."
You can also say Hace calor, which means "It's hot," when talking about the weather.
COMPLAINT 4
[Normal] Está frío [Slow] Está frío
This means "It's cold."
You can also say Hace frío.

"I'm tired."
For the feminine form, say Estoy cansada.
I use this all the time!
COMPLAINT 7
[Normal] Engordé. [Slow] Engordé.
"I got fat."
Remember that you can conjugate a verb to demonstrate who is doing the action without having to use names or pronouns.
COMPLAINT 8
[Normal] Nunca tengo dinero. [Slow] Nunca tengo dinero.
"I'm always broke."
The literal translation is "I never have money."
COMPLAINT 9
[Normal] Mi trabajo es aburrido [Slow] Mi trabajo es aburrido
"My job is boring."
You can substitute Mi trabajo ("my job") with another noun phrase to say that something is boring. For example, Esta película es aburrida ("This movie is boring").
COMPLAINT 10
[Normal] Esa persona apesta. [Slow] Esa persona apesta.
"That person stinks."
Like in English, this sentence could mean that the person literally has a bad odor, that they are bad at doing something, or that they are unlikable.
COMPLAINT 11
[Normal] Hay demasiado tráfico. [Slow] Hay demasiado tráfico.
"There is too much traffic."
Because only a few cities in Mexico have trains, cars are still the main means of transportation, even in large cities.
COMPLAINT 12
[Normal] El Wi-Fi aquí es demasiado lento. [Slow] El Wi-Fi aquí es demasiado lento.
"The Wi-Fi here is too slow."
Wi-Fi comes from English, the translation in Spanish is conexión inálambrica.
COMPLAINT 13
[Normal] Mi jefe es molesto. [Slow] Mi jefe es molesto.
"My boss is annoying."
The feminine form of jefe ("boss") is jefa.
COMPLAINT 14
[Normal] El salario es muy poco. [Slow] El salario es muy poco.
"The wage is too low."
Another word used for "salary" is sueldo.
COMPLAINT 15
[Normal] No me gusta. [Slow] No me gusta.
"I don't like it."
To specify what you don't like, add it after gusta. For example, No me gusta el aguacate means "I don't like avocado."
