COMPLAINT 1 |
The first complaint is ... |
[Normal] Me estoy muriendo de hambre. [Slow] Me estoy muriendo de hambre. |
"I'm starving." |
This literally means "I am dying of hunger." |
COMPLAINT 2 |
The next complaint is... |
[Normal] Hay mucho ruido. [Slow] Hay mucho ruido. |
This means "It's noisy." |
This literally means "There is a lot of noise." |
COMPLAINT 3 |
[Normal] Está caluroso [Slow] Está caluroso |
This means "It's hot." |
You can also say Hace calor, which means "It's hot," when talking about the weather. |
COMPLAINT 4 |
[Normal] Está frío [Slow] Está frío |
This means "It's cold." |
You can also say Hace frío. |
COMPLAINT 5 |
[Normal] Es muy caro. [Slow] Es muy caro. |
"It's too expensive." |
You can also say Está muy caro. |
You can use this when bargaining! |
COMPLAINT 6 |
[Normal] Estoy cansado. [Slow] Estoy cansado. |
"I'm tired." |
For the feminine form, say Estoy cansada. |
I use this all the time! |
COMPLAINT 7 |
[Normal] Engordé. [Slow] Engordé. |
"I got fat." |
Remember that you can conjugate a verb to demonstrate who is doing the action without having to use names or pronouns. |
COMPLAINT 8 |
[Normal] Nunca tengo dinero. [Slow] Nunca tengo dinero. |
"I'm always broke." |
The literal translation is "I never have money." |
COMPLAINT 9 |
[Normal] Mi trabajo es aburrido [Slow] Mi trabajo es aburrido |
"My job is boring." |
You can substitute Mi trabajo ("my job") with another noun phrase to say that something is boring. For example, Esta película es aburrida ("This movie is boring"). |
COMPLAINT 10 |
[Normal] Esa persona apesta. [Slow] Esa persona apesta. |
"That person stinks." |
Like in English, this sentence could mean that the person literally has a bad odor, that they are bad at doing something, or that they are unlikable. |
COMPLAINT 11 |
[Normal] Hay demasiado tráfico. [Slow] Hay demasiado tráfico. |
"There is too much traffic." |
Because only a few cities in Mexico have trains, cars are still the main means of transportation, even in large cities. |
COMPLAINT 12 |
[Normal] El Wi-Fi aquí es demasiado lento. [Slow] El Wi-Fi aquí es demasiado lento. |
"The Wi-Fi here is too slow." |
Wi-Fi comes from English, the translation in Spanish is conexión inálambrica. |
COMPLAINT 13 |
[Normal] Mi jefe es molesto. [Slow] Mi jefe es molesto. |
"My boss is annoying." |
The feminine form of jefe ("boss") is jefa. |
COMPLAINT 14 |
[Normal] El salario es muy poco. [Slow] El salario es muy poco. |
"The wage is too low." |
Another word used for "salary" is sueldo. |
COMPLAINT 15 |
[Normal] No me gusta. [Slow] No me gusta. |
"I don't like it." |
To specify what you don't like, add it after gusta. For example, No me gusta el aguacate means "I don't like avocado." |
