More Dialects of Spanish

Postby rg19998413 » July 20th, 2013 6:04 pm

I had written Spanishpod101 years ago regarding adding to the number of dialects offered, beyond just peruvian, mexican, castellano, and costa rican. However, no dialects have been added. I would like to see Puerto Rican, Chilean, Argentinan, Central American, etc. Any time frame for when this might happen?

Hi rg19998413,

Thank you for your comment.
We really appreciate and value our user's opinions and suggestion.
Our Upper Intermediate Season 1 series have some lessons (from lesson 10) in Argentinian dialect.

As for other dialects, I'll discuss with my team about expanding the dialects taught in our site.
Which one is your favorite?

Kind regards,
Paloma

You guys act like you don't have American customers. Is there seriously no demand for Puerto Rican/Cuban/Dominican Republic spanish?

Maybe you dont' have much american customers because it these dialects are almost useless for Americans. Now that you are adding Mexican, that's a huge plus for Americans. Before that, not much use because Spanish in the US sounds so different than Peruvian or Argentinian because of accent and abbreviated words.
