2. Did you get fooled?

Pranks, jokes and lies oh my! - did you dodge them all on April Fool’s Day? April 1st was April Fool’s Day all around the world but in Spain on December 28th, similar pranks are practiced on December 28, día de los Santos Inocentes, or Day of the Holy Innocents. Pranks are known as inocentadas and their victims are called inocentes, or alternatively, the pranksters are the “inocentes” and the victims should not be angry at them, since they could not have committed any sins. April Fools jokes may have gotten more elaborate throughout the years; one of the most famous and successful being the BBC’s report of Spaghetti Trees being grown in Switzerland. The prank was so believable that citizens called in to ask where they could buy Spaghetti Trees! The reporter’s reply? Plant a leaf of basil in a can of tomato sauce and hope for the best.
