Learn Spanish with SpanishPod101.com! You have just arrived in a Latin American country and you have already noticed there is something very different about Spanish-speaking people. Everywhere you look, people appear to be dressed differently…and what is that noise?! Is that…music? Well, maybe you just have jet lag and things will feel better once you get to your hotel room. Hi everyone! Here’s a question to start discussion….
Is there any feature of Latin American Pop Culture in the areas of pop music, cinema, fashion, television, or celebrities that you’re currently fascinated with?

Ever since I started learning Spanish I’ve gotten into the music, reggeaton, cumbia, salsa, bachata, and every now and then you catch me listening to a little banda and ranchero music.
I find myself watching telenovelas from time to time, mostly because I like to see the “peleas y cachetadas”, jaja, that’s good stuff.
Movies of course, I’ve seen several great movies I would have otherwise never would have heard of.
In general I’m learning a lot more about Latin American culture as a whole.
Oh, and you guys seriously need to fire your title writers. They suck and I bet you pay big bucks for that. BTW, whos does your lesson descriptions? The same guys? How about I write your titles for half f of what they charge, LOL.

Hi Rodney,
My favorites are big salsa orchestras! And also Rock en espaƱol, which my friends find a little “fresa” but I like it, the formula reminds me of Top 40 in the 80s.
As for our titles and lesson descriptions, they may seem like a stretch sometimes, but they are “search engine optimized,” which means they help bring new folks to the site! Which is a good thing, so nobody’s getting fired anytime soon (knock on wood…). Anyway, I’m glad they’re doing it, because writing for SEO means having to learn a new way of thinking about how your text appears in search engines… and me, I’d rather concentrate on grammar explanations
Besides, the titles and descriptions are good for a chuckle now and then!
Thanks, as always, for your participation, Rodney!

Yeah, I figured that’s why the title writing is being outsourced , but I really don’t see how it’s effective because all they do is stick the word Spanish in every title.
Oh well, I only know a little about SEO, so I just need to be quiet and let the experts do their job!
