Madrid is an amazing city with lots of things for tourists to see and do. Rainy weather might cause some problems for visitors though. Anybody else ever been to the capital city of Spain?

Bouks says:

I haven’t been there yet, but I might possibly go this summer. I’m very much hoping I will be able to. I am going to spend the summer in Marseille, France — I did the same last year, and we made a roadtrip to Barcelona. So this time, we should drive just a little farther and see Madrid! I wouldn’t mind the rainy weather, as long as it’s not while we’re driving. It didn’t rain when we were in Barcelona.

I didn’t know that the Basque language lent so many words to Spanish. Did you know that in French, they say “It’s raining ropes” (”Il pleut des cordes”) when it’s raining heavily? Probably because that’s what the rain looks like when it’s falling nonstop.

Useful lesson! I also want to mention that I really like all the new music clips that you have been sprinkling throughout all the lessons.

Thanks to Kevin MacLeod for the music used in today’s lesson.
