This broadcast was recorded on location in Madrid, Spain. Here is today’s transcript:

¡Hola! David,

I think some years ago I visited “una Feria de Abril”, but I am not sure if it was in Sevilla.

Bouks says:

We celebrated Feria in my flamenco dance studio recently. (I won a Sevillanas contest! I love to dance Sevillanas with castanets.) It would be fantastic to go to a real Feria in Sevilla…but as I hear, the casetas are very exclusive. It seems like you have to have connections in high places to get into one!

David says:

Hey there!

Mariposa: there are Ferias in other cities. I would say that after Sevilla, Málaga is the next one in popularity. But people from Málaga will never assume they are second (Sevilla and Málaga are two cities that are always competing for everything, and the Ferias is one of these reasons).

Bouks: You are right; las casetas are very exclusive (in fact, they are private and you can only access them if you know the owners). There are some of them which are public access (unions, political parties…). But anyway, even if you can’t enter a caseta, it will be a great experience to visit la Fera de Sevilla.

Saludos,
David.
