Learn Spanish with SpanishPod101.com! Today, Joe and Bea have the second part of our introductory lessons, which focus on verbs. Last time, we learned about some of the important concepts that are going to be key to studying how verbs work as a whole in the Spanish language. In particular, we studied “number” and “person”. Today, we’re going to recap what we learned and move ahead to cover some of the other key elements that we’ll need as we go through the verb conjugations in Spanish. This Series is essential for anyone studying the Spanish language, since verbs play such an important role in so many different ways. Join us as we work our way through all the tenses and moods of the Spanish verbal system, offering useful and fun examples while we go.

Were any of these concepts hard for you to understand? Which ones? I know there are a few different ways of forming verbs in the passive voice, and we only gave one example… can anyone think of another way?
Hi,
Pdf of the lesson guide is missing. Thank you for uploading.
I thin that happens to me every day. The PDF usually downloads the next day, but for some reason, when I download the lessons, the most recent PDF doesn’t come out through iTunes until later.
Hey guys,
The PDF is now available. We’re working to make sure that this delay doesn’t become a regular thing, and we really appreciate your patience with us!

:???: Hi, I cannot figure out one of the questions posed in the review section for this lesson. The example is:
Hable con Miguel en la manana and despues lo vi en la calle,
To me, both verbs are in the past tense … I spoke and I saw…so I think they are the same tense…but the answer in the lesson is that these are in different tenses. I don’t get it.
Tracy
Tracy,
Good catch! You’re right. In the example, “Hablé con Miguel en la mañana and después lo vi en la calle”, the verbs “hablé” and “vi” are in the same tense. We will replace the audio for the Review Track of this lesson. I’ll update here when the corrected version is published.
Now that you’ve pointed these two out, do you know what their person and number are? What tense are they in? Which conjugation does each belong to? Studying the verbal system in Spanish can be addicting. Just a warning…
Thanks for helping to make our course better.
Joseph
Tracy,
Just wanted to let you know that the Review Track has been revised and is now correct. Thanks for the catch!
Best,
Joseph
