Learn Spanish with Spanishpod101.com! Just how indispensable is this lesson? Join Alan and Lisy and find out! In today’s addition of the beginner series we have two questions that are essential when learning Spanish, “¿qué es esto? (What is this?) and “¿qué quiere decir?” (What does it mean?). Now, why are these questions so essential? Well, when starting out your Spanish studies it may help you to be able to inquire about things. Unless you really don’t care where you end up. We know where you should end up…The learning center. Don’t forget to check it out for general and lesson specific reference material.

Has anyone every played a Peruvian “cajón”? Have you ever seen one? They’re really unique instruments. If I’m not mistaken, they’re used in Flamenco music now, too, right?

SpanishPod101.com says:

Hey Max,

Yeah, that’s a cajón. Here’s an example of how it’s used in Afro-Peruvian music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNi8PZdvKg0&feature=related

Also, you can follow this link to the forum: http://www.spanishpod101.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26
In my post there, I’ve listed a number of other links to videos of Peruvian music with the cajón, and there are also links to the lyrics of the songs.

Keep up the god work!
Joseph
